More From Tom

What do you love about recruiting?

I’m continually learning, sharing life lessons, and exercising my passion for helping people to advance their careers and provide income for their families. I love meeting new people every day. And, of course, “RINGING THE BELL!” which is how we celebrate when one of our candidates gets successfully hired.

What are you passionate about?

I work in my yard as my dad and grandfather were landscapers. It reminds me of my roots (get it ?) – I tell stories and jokes that make people smile and laugh. Humor is the shortest distance between two people and I love being witty and putting people at ease.

Having just gotten married in Maui, HI, I now spend time with my wife traveling, volunteering, spiritual activities and of course planning family get togethers, BBQ’s and holiday fun.

Our family has a lakeside cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and I go up there to relax, fish, putz around the property, work (Seine’s Northern Michigan Office), and bond with my family.

When my kids were younger, I loved coaching them in sports and was (and still remain) their #1 fan. Now I have three granddaughters which we love to spoil and they are already on the run!

What is unique about Seine in terms of how we work with candidates and clients?

We are all about you. We build our reputation on the success of our clients and candidates. Seine has 98% repeat business.

Candidates should trust that we put ourselves in your shoes, we communicate the good, the bad, and even the ugly. We respect and value your time. We provide you advice and resources for interviewing, as well as career next steps.

For clients, we provide the best experience possible, and we deliver vetted, high-quality candidates. We don’t waste your time. We are easy to work with, we listen, we are flexible, we are creative, we deliver what is needed, we go above and beyond, we are always available, and we genuinely make things happen in a positive, a timely way.

Life or career highlights?

My accomplishments are not what I have done or can do for myself, but what I can do for others. I was more self-absorbed in my earlier lifetime: big house, big paycheck, all that stuff. Now I know, it’s not about that at all.
Tell me it can’t be done and I am all over it. It can be done and it will be done correctly.

In this stage of my life, it’s not about my success, it isn’t about how much money I make, it’s about how I care and treat and serve people that matters. Making others feel good is how I feel good. Don’t get me wrong, I still love financial freedom, but it is now a balance. Maintaining balance is a key in life.
