Common Questions from candidates

Kind. Smart. Witty. Proactive. Diligent. Creative. Independent. Collaborative. 😉

Typically, we place full-time permanent (W2 or 1099), contract with an option to hire, temporary or project-based independent consultants, or consultants under contract with Seine. That said, we don’t let labels limit us. Our creativity is boundless when it comes to making the right connection between employee and employer.

In terms of roles, whatever our clients need! Or, if you’re someone who prefers specifics, here are some recent examples from among our core industries:

  • Information Technology: Senior UI Developer, Routing/Switching Technician with Active TSCI + Polygraph, Senior Network Engineer, SD-WAN Engineer, Application Architect
  • Life Sciences: Biochemist, Microbiologist, Laboratory Technician, Quality Control Analyst, Validation Technician, Regulatory Affairs Specialist
  • Renewable Energy: Container Handler, Nuclear Instructor, Communications Specialist, Maintenance Technician, Vice President Plant Services, Mechanical Engineer, Senior Plant Operator

We probably received your resume through one of the routes:

  • A current or previous candidate recommended you.
  • You responded to our advertisement.
  • You were in our database from a previous conversation or search, and your name popped up as a match for the specific skills, requirements, location, clearance, etc. we’re seeking for a particular job.
  • We conducted a detailed search on a job board or sourcing channel and identified you as a possible qualified candidate.
  • We hired Deputy Marshall Samuel Gerard from The Fugitive to find a needle-in-a-pile-of-needles candidate like you.

You will experience the best service you’ve ever enjoyed from a recruiting and staffing partner. Or from any company you’ve ever worked with. Think of “Be our Guest” from Disney’s Beauty & the Beast and multiply by 100.

You will go through Seine’s mythical recruitment process of pre-screen interview, management interview, candidate submittal, and handoff to client. We will prepare you for every step and conversation along the way. You will feel informed, involved, and empowered.

With your permission, we would like to represent you to our client. We never will present you to an end client without your permission. If you grant this authorization, we will create an irresistible profile of you from our conversations, including: a customized resume, candidate summary from our pre-screen, and a formal recommendation endorsing you as a must-hire professional to the client.

Congratulations! You have passed the Seine pre-screen and Management Interview, and we want to submit you to our client. To present you in the best way possible to them, we will reformat your resume to match their preferred layout. To do this properly, we need your latest resume in a Word (.doc) file.

Typically, our clients respond to us within a day or two. We will contact you immediately via phone, text, or email to let you know no matter what we hear. If they agree with us that you’d be a good fit, we will work with both parties to schedule an interview.

It is safe to assume that if we are talking to you, our client has an immediate need. That said, we do try to build a pipeline of awesome individuals like you in anticipation of future needs. Either way, we always will be up front with you about the timing of a particular job.

Hiring organizations are open and flexible. They understand that personal schedules may change. They also understand that considerate candidates like you will want to do the right thing in giving proper notice to your current employer and rearrange your personal life prior to transitioning to a new position.

This varies by job order and by client. Either way, we’ll always let you know if we have a certain amount of open orders with a client; or you are our only submittal to date; or this client requests to have 2-3 candidates submitted and you are one of them; or, this is not an exclusive-to-Seine opportunity, so other firms are submitting candidates as well.

Yes, if we are calling you about an opportunity, we have an MSA in place with our client.

Good question. We aim to make any solution a win/win for candidates and clients alike. More often than not, the company you interview with will be Seine’s direct end client. There are times, however, when an organization’s external recruiting partner reaches out to us for help. In those cases, we’ll submit you to the partner who owns the relationship with the hiring organization. While rare, some hiring organizations do not allow a subcontractor, so if that happens, our partner will hire you directly and represent you to their end client.

If it sounds confusing, just know that we’re flexible, and we’ll be open with you about the relationship.

As of early 2021, we do not carry any healthcare benefits. We are reviewing plans and hope to offer benefits soon.

We support and engage with anyone and everyone. Having said that, hiring organizations have their own requirements, like H1B visa, US citizen, EAD, TN Visa, Green Card, F1 visa. We abide by their specifications when it comes to sourcing, engaging, and recommending candidates. Sometimes they do offer sponsorship. No matter what, we will be upfront with you about this from the outset.

First, and importantly, there is no fee involved. Candidates never pay us. When you give Seine your exclusive permission to submit you to a client, you’re simply letting us and the client know that you have not previously applied to their organization anytime in the last year and that you are not working with another recruiting organization. Your permission gives Seine the exclusive right to represent you with a client for a particular, mutually agreed upon opportunity.

If you don’t see these details in the job posting, we will go over as much as we can with you when we talk on your pre-screen call. We collect as much information as we can from our clients when we get them order from them so we can clearly represent the job description, expectations, and benefits to you. If we can’t answer your question, we will take it directly to our client and get back to you.

In terms of COVID precautions, those vary from one company to another. We will have company- and role-specific information when we talk with you. Most client companies have employees working from home and only allowing those deemed “essential to the operation of the business and facility” to be on-site. With everyone’s safety in mind, most initial candidate interviews are being conducted via phone or video conference.

Common Questions from Talent Leaders

We cast a wide net across more than 30 sourcing channels, many of them specific to the role, skills, and experience of your targeted candidates. Of course, we never stop researching other options, too. We currently have a database that contains profiles of nearly 20,000 candidates we’ve met since 2002.

Tom Geist founded TEG Global in February 2002. In 2020, he welcomed his brother Paul as CEO and together rebranded TEG Global to “Seine.”

We leverage a proprietary, highly caffeinated blend of Six Sigma, SCRUM, AGILE, and Kanban to maximize our NPS quotient and revolutionize recruiting dynamics…………..

Ok, not really. Our magic potion is made up of three simple, but unmatchable ingredients: Our people, our philosophy, and our process. For us, it’s all about relationships and results. Candidates and clients can expect to be treated with honesty, integrity, and enthusiasm. We want everyone who interacts with us to be a walking testimonial to Seine. Smiles, placements, and repeat business fuel us. And coffee. Lots of coffee.

We customize pricing models to each client based on roles, volume, and other factors. We will conduct background checks, drug testing and professional references, as required.

We are as flexible and as powerful as graphene*. Typically our Master Services Agreement allows a six-month option to hire with no back-end fee. We also include a timeline of hiring flexibility to our end customers in case you wish to hire in month one through five a well.

*  “Graphene is the strongest, thinnest material known to exist. A form of carbon, it can conduct electricity and heat better than anything else. And get ready for this: It is not only the hardest material in the world, but also one of the most pliable.” –The New York Times

Because we talk to all of our candidates and document their skills, experiences, and preferences in our database, we can search and identify available and qualified talent. Additionally, we have a Thor-strong team of recruiting superheroes who are driven to find and vet great people for you quickly.

Yes, we are very flexible in our recruitment strategies. We have filled roles for projects that were just a few weeks long, filled in voids for maternity and paternity leaves, and brought in subject-matter experts with niche product knowledge. We can locate independent consultants who thrive on and exist for these types of quick-turn opportunities.

Seine works with organizations and candidates across all of North America, including Canada and Mexico. Our team also has global experience building and supporting multinational talent strategies with some of the world’s top recruiting and staffing providers.

Yes, of course. Seine executives have been in the industry an average of 25 years.  We know the game and know how to play it.  We will work with you however we can to make potential opportunities real opportunities. A true business relationship is established. Seine will work with our customers however we can best support to build strong foundations to long lasting business relationships.

Quite frankly, if you provide us with a detailed job description and we communicate with each other to a full understanding of your culture and expectations, we will deliver the right candidate in any industry. That said, we are particularly strong at filling roles in our core industries of information technology, life sciences, and renewable energy. Examples of recent placements include:

  • Information Technology: Senior UI Developer, Routing/Switching Technician with Active TSCI + Polygraph, Senior Network Engineer, SD-WAN Engineer, Application Architect
  • Life Sciences: Biochemist, Microbiologist, Laboratory Technician, Quality Control Analyst, Validation Technician, Regulatory Affairs Specialist
  • Renewable Energy: Container Handler, Nuclear Instructor, Communications Specialist, Maintenance Technician, Vice President Plant Services, Mechanical Engineer, Senior Plant Operator

Click here now! We can start off with an NDA to discuss what you are looking for in a candidate or a recruiting partner. We welcome any opportunity to meet cool people like you and have a chance to earn your business. No obligation. No risk. Nothing but upside for you, your team, and your organization. Why are you still reading?!

Ok, for starters, we are in the business of quality not quantity. In fact, at Seine we attempt to limit the candidate presentations to our best two to three candidates. This commitment to quality saves you time overall because in most cases, the candidates we provide are interview ready. We vet each submission better and more thoroughly than any of your other recruiting partners. Each candidate gives us permission to represent them. In many circumstances we have an RTR (Right to Represent) form signed by the candidates to authorize Seine to Represent them to a specific client.

We only recommend candidates we would hire.

Seine typically will hire either a W2 employee or an independent consultant who owns their own company (and has no other employees). It is extremely rare that Seine will utilize a third-party organization.

Our overarching goal is to earn a trusting, lasting business partnership with you. Seine works under the onus of being fair for all parties. In many cases for option-to-hire or contract-to-hire placements, the end client knows the candidates’ wages already. We do not maintain a standard mark up to conduct business. Your business and ours seek to achieve success, deliver efficient results, and make a reasonable profit.

Seine believes in searching systematically until we find the best candidate for your positions and not just the first available candidate; this frequently means talking to people who are not actively looking for another position. We are not a large firm that just throws candidates your way, we have worked closely with many of our consultants and we personally know their strengths and weaknesses.

In our client’s eyes, Seine is only as good as the last candidate we present.  By following our proven process, Seine will improve your opportunity for a successful placement.
