What do you love about recruiting?

Learning how people walk, talk, act, blink, think, breathe, care, and engage and then trying to take the essence of that person and align it (or don’t) to the right opportunity. Recruiting is career-matching and dream-making. It’s simply life-changing to those involved. I am honored to facilitate that journey. I truly enjoy the chess game of managing the moving pieces to make the right connection.

As an individual, I feel I bring an ability to make the complex simple. To do things a bit differently than others and in a way that will be appreciated. I have a generosity that is felt by candidates and clients, but most importantly, by my teams. I like to analyze and break down in order to build a better version. I bring a leadership style that encourages challenge, input, and curiosity.

Clients and candidates can expect to hear me smiling on the other side of the phone and to gain a personal experience that will cement Seine as a positive memory in their career search or engagement with us.

What did you do before Seine?

Since interning at Michigan State as a technical recruiter I have been involved and passionate about talent in various way. Early experience with recruiting blossomed into talent management roles where I led teams as large as 25 people. At one point, I was responsible for a recruiting Center of Excellence focused on hub support to branch recruitment.

I eventually shifted into account/client management where I applied my recruitment expertise to relationship-building and client care working as the liaison between clients and recruiters. This eventually blossomed into large enterprise and global-wide account management where I focused on designing and overseeing talent strategies including global talent attraction, supply chain management, HR technology, and so forth with partnerships as large as $350M across 35+ countries.

What do you think is unique about Seine in terms of how we work with candidates and clients?

Seine is personal. We care. We focus on clients that share our philosophies around human behavior and talent attraction. We believe in positive experiences and pushing ourselves, our clients, and our candidates out of comfort zones to promote improvement.

We are experts in what we do, and we have no intention of being all things to all people. We embrace and expect change. We use technology to enable us but will NEVER remove our passion for personal relationships and human interaction. We make mistakes and we fail forward with them. We are flexible in how we engage with clients and candidates. We seek positive experiences. We have fun…and so do our clients and candidates. We hope that people enjoy working with us.

What are you passionate about?

I enjoy my family and friends and with a beautiful wife and four boys I spend the majority of my time with them. I love to travel, to workout (lifting preferred), and golfing is my favorite hobby by a landslide. I’m passionate about most sports but really both college (Michigan State Spartans) and NFL football (Detroit Lions) and most enjoy college basketball (go Spartans).

I enjoy the outdoors with hiking, climbing, biking, fishing, and general water sports leading the charge. Cooking has become a family favorite and to shut my brain down and recharge I will indulge in a good movie/TV series or, on occasion, a good read.

I have had a seat on the Board of Directors for Walkers Pointe (focused on underprivileged youth) and an advisor to the Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Favorite movie, TV show, song, band, play, musical, book, sports team, etc.

  • Place: Thailand – Life experiences in Thailand have molded who I am today
  • Song: Two Step – Dave Matthews (prefer acoustic)

Fun facts about you

As a 2nd grader, I set the record for most times juggling a soccer ball — they had to tell me to stop at 1,000. I held the shuttle-run record at my middle school for at least a decade (haven’t been back so maybe it still stands). I was the only two-time soccer most-valuable player (MVP) in middle school. I won the MVP among 1,000 attendees at Michigan State basketball camp and got to wear Magic Johnson’s actual game jersey in the all-star game (they recruited me for two years and slowly realized that I had peaked early). I founded Michigan State’s Rock-Climbing Club, which became the University’s second-largest student-run organization. I was inducted into the Pre-Med National Honor Society while at Michigan State. I’ve been to more than 20 national parks, and I’ve traveled to more than 20 countries. I am a proud father and husband.
